I love setting off a piece with contrast, usually with light, but here with both color and light.
Autumn is a favorite time of year for most people and I wanted to paint the fresh feel of that season after an often hot and humid summer.
The orange of the mini pumpkins bounce off the detailed patterned fabric and the candy corn sparkles aginst this blue background.
Much time was spent in carefully detailing the perspective of the pattern in the fabric to appear to lay down and go into the diatance.
This gives the whole piece the feel of reaching in and grabbing a handful of candy corn!
"Blue and Gold" image measures 10" x 15" with a three inch white beveled mat bringing the overall size to 16" x21".
All display materials are archival and carefully assesmbled by yours truly.
